As resident tech-writer, pop-culture fan, and Internet geek at ScoutAreaOnline.com, I spend a lot of my time drooling after the endless lists of wonderful new gadgetry at Engadget.com, ThinkGeek.com, and the like. Some of them I post to my wish list at Amazon.com. Some I’m actively saving up for. And then there are some that I really would like to experience, but may never have enough resources for. Have a look at just a few of my most wished-for items.

It goes by many names: “geek” or “nerd” humor [those two terms are not completely synonymous, by the way]. “Science” humor. The sort of stuff that comes out of the Mythbusters’ mouths every time they do one or another of their crazy experiments. Jokes that need knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, and the occasional bit of trigonometry to get.

The confidence trick – the con, the scam, the grift – has been around for a long, long time indeed. One would be forgiven for hoping that people are getting smarter, and that it is getting easier to recognize such scams and fight back against them. Alas but the grafters seem to be getting smarter along with the rest of us, and seem to be spending all their time coming up with new ideas with which to trick people, usually into giving away their hard-earned money.

If you ever played video games in your life, it doesn’t matter how old you are or how good you are: at some point or another, you WILL have heard of the following titles: Space Invaders. Pong. And, especially if you lived through the “Brick Game” craze in the Philippines, Tetris. “There’s no school like the old school”, it’s said, and it’s really hard to get any more old-school in video games than the titles above.

 Technology is changing very fast.  When a consumer buys a gadget, the next day or so another upgraded gadget will be manufactured.  The thirst for growth and development continues to grow.  Once upon a time humans only had their hands and simple machines to help them survive, but now the Internet is a necessity for living.  The cyber age is upon us, and most of the people in this age should ride the call of the times to become more productive.
