GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL TO RISE IN CUBAO

Funding has been assured for the construction of a new hospital in Quezon City. The city government is eyeing a one-hectare property along Commonwealth Avenue as the site for the proposed hospital; the project is to meet the health and medical needs of residents of District II, home to the majority of the city’s poor.

Fifty thousand poor and malnourished students in Quezon City are so hungry that they can’t think properly in school. These children, mostly Grade One students in Quezon City’s public school system, now suffer from learning handicaps such as impaired mental capacities, according to the Quezon City Public Affairs and Information Office (PAISO).

MEMORIAL FOR KAGAWADS IN QUEZON CITY REVIVED

On February 5, 2002, the Quezon City council, through then-councilor Elizabeth Delarmente, proposed an ordinance which sought to establish a memorial dedicated to the city’s barangay kagawads in recognition of their devotion to their duties and mandate.
