Amidst the growing buzz of the global economic crisis, who would have ever thought that someone out there would be generous enough to continue helping the poor? According to the National Statistics Office, in the Philippines alone, 1 or 2 children out of every 1,000 are born with cleft lips or cleft palates. These are congenital anomalies, presenting as facial fissures resulting from the failure of the mouth to fuse together.
